These findings were dependent on the patients having no strictures in the small bowel on their radiographic study.

The diagnostic rates favor VCE before push enteroscopy.

Endoscopy 2003, 35:576-584. An important study to help determine the effectiveness of VCE. This also helped to standardize the diagnostic rate of VCE and other endoscopic studies.

Gastroenterology 2004, 126:643-653. A key study of patient outcomes after VCE. This study helped show the importance of VCE in determining the care of patients with obscure gastrointestinal bleeding.
