This first "fast" decay is a residual of a true fast component (of the order of tens of nanoseconds) which cannot be evidenced with a microsecond flash lamp. However, since the flash-pulse duration is less than 1 μs (∼0.5 μs width), the measured quasifast decay (∼10 μs) can, in fact, be considered as a first intermediate component.
