We note here that due to different parity of η and ξ, any terms which have odd powers of either η or ξ are prohibited in the GL potential in contrast to the same-parity case. See e.g. A.J. Leggett, Prog. Theor. Phys. 36, 5 (1966) and Ref. 17. Those terms, if present, could prohibit second-order phase transitions to a state with coexistent η and ξ.
