Clin Infect Dis 2007; 44:1307-1314. This paper is a matched case-control study (1:2) to identify the independent risk factors for Nocardia in transplanted patients. Control subjects were matched for transplant type and timing. Clinical and microbiological characteristics of all case patients were reviewed. This study provides insights into the epidemiology of Nocardia infection in the present period in which immunosuppressive and prophylactic regimens have greatly evolved.
