We have solved the Schrödinger equations for two one-dimensional displaced harmonic oscillators, coupled by the electric field of the laser, within the electric dipole and rotating waves approximations. The equations were solved numerically, using a split operator propagation scheme. [H. Tal-Ezer and R. Kosloff, J. Chem. Phys. 81, 3967 (1984)].
11. Indeed we do find larger relative amplitude of the oscillations with respect to the slow background signal at longer wavelengths. However, the overall signal quality is degraded towards the band extremes and the effect cannot be exploited for a reliable discrimination.
