    • We use the word “distance” for the classical mechanical case, although the phase space has no metric structure but a symplectic structure. However, the metric can be fixed by considering the classical limit of the quantum metric for minimum-uncertainty states as in J. Anandan, Phys. Lett. A 147, 3 (1990). In any case, for an arbitrary fixing of the metric an infinitesimal distance between trajectories will ultimately grow exponentially for chaotic systems.PYLAAG
