    • Owing to the relatively low-coordination number of atoms at the contact the coupling between the nanoparticle and the object 1 can be weak. An oxide layer can also increase the spacing between a nanoparticle and the object 1 and hence, weaken the coupling between them. Accordingly, the vibration states of nanoparticle and the object 1 are calculated separately as expressed in Eq. (2) and the energy transfer (dissipation) from the nanoparticle to the object 1 is treated as outlined by Eqs. (34)
