We nole thai Z is an effective charge in a sense of the Alex-ander theory of charge renormalization [3], that takes into account the nonlinear screening effects in the vicinity of the highly charged macroion omitted in the linearized PB equation from which the DLVO potential is derived. In our model, the renormalized charge Z* and diameter d* are obtained as a further renormalization of the effective charge Z.
