    • One may intuitively expect a very small amplitude of the standing waves in the film at a very large dc since a thicker cap layer presents a larger tunneling barrier into the film. However, for a large but finite dc, it only takes longer for the RENSW to build up. Once the stationary state is reached, the standing waves do not cost energy in the absence of dissipative processes (such as nuclear absorption), and therefore | ψ |max2 can remain very large in the film. The calculations in Ref. [6], which showed a maximum in | ψ |max2 vs dc, were done with a finite uIm in the film.
