    • Ivonne J. Garzón-Orduña is a second year PhD student in the program of Conservation Biology at the University of New Orleans; she is currently interested in cladistic biogeography and the phylogenetic history of Hamadryas butterflies. Daniel Rafael Miranda-Esquivel is a professor at the Biology School of Universidad Industrial de Santander in Colombia. His research interests include the phylogenetic history within Neotropical black flies (Diptera: Simuliidae), the biogeographical origin of the Neotropics, quantitative approaches to identifying areas of endemism, and weighting schemes in cladistic analysis. Mariano Donato is a CONICET (Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas, Argentina) researcher at Museo de La Plata, Argentina. His research interests include the systematics and biogeography of the Chironomidae (Diptera), the biogeography of southern South America, and cladistic methods. Editor: Malte Ebach
