    • In the VDOS of bulk Fe, a tail of the transverse (T) phonons exists up to the cutoff energy EFe, even though at only ∼15% of the longitudinal (L) phonons for E>33meV. Since the contribution of T phonons is small, we label the VDOS peak at 36 meV as a longitudinal phonon peak.
