    • 15 S-(+)-M0 and S-(+)-M2 should induce RH sense of the BHPSt molecule in nematic phase, while S-(+)-M0 and S-(+)-M2 induce N* phase with LH sense. The conflict with experimental observation might be due to the contribution of vinyl group to the dipole moment of the monomer molecule along the long axis.
