Stone AL, Storr CL, Anthony JC. Evidence for a hallucinogen dependence syndrome developing soon after onset of hallucinogen use during adolescence. Int J Methods Psychiatr Res 2006; 15:116-130. Using latent class analysis, these authors show that there is a rapid development of hallucinogen dependence syndrome among young hallucinogen users who reported the initiation of hallucinogen use in the past 24 months prior to the interview. More importantly, MDMA users have been found to be more at risk in developing dependence than LSD users.
