    • The letters in Glazer's notation indicate the magnitude of the rotation about a give axis. Use of the letters a, b, and c implies unequal tilts about the x, y and z axes. A superscript is used to denote the phase of the octahedral tilting in neighboring layers. A positive superscript denotes the neighboring octahedral tilt in the same direction (in-phase) and a negative superscript indicates the tilt of neighboring octahedral in the opposite direction (out of phase). More details of Glazer's notation can be found in refs 32-34.
