    • We have implemented an event-driven algorithm, where in addition to hard-core collisions, the events also include the barrier crossing as explained in D. C. Rapaport, The Art of Molecular Dynamics Simulation (Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 1995). In an event-driven algorithm, the trajectory of the system is propagated from one event to the next, according to a constant velocity evolution. At the event, i.e., when the distance between two particles reaches the location of the barrier (σ+Δ) (either from inside or outside) or the location of the hard core, their velocities are recalculated.
