Can incomplete taxa rescue phylogenetic analyses from long-branch attraction?
-
Joachim Mergeay studies various aspects of the ecological genetics of Daphnia. Both he and Adam Petrusek share a profound interest in the evolutionary history, diversity and systematics of Daphnia worldwide. Ximena Aguilera Studied the genetic diversity of Daphnia and the community structure of local zooplankton of Bolivian Andes lakes as part of her PhD thesis, in close cooperation with Steven Declerck, who focuses mostly on community ecology and biodiversity patterns in lakes and ponds. Tine Huyse mainly studies phylogenetic patterns and processes in parasite-host speciation and evolution, and provided essential contributions to the phylogenetic analyses in this paper. Luc De Meester is a senior lecturer and researcher in ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the Laboratory of Aquatic Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, K.U. Leuven, Belgium. The lab covers a wide range of research topics in ecology, evolution, conservation and population genetics.
