Downregulation of cardiac renalase expression in CKD and protective effect of renalase in acute coronary syndrome
-
CKD in rats not only leads to severe renalase deficiency in blood, but is also associated with decreased expression of renalase in the heart. Recombinant renalase preserves cardiac function during ischemia reperfusion suggesting that renalase deficiency worsens the sequelae of cardiac ischemia in patients with CKD
