A priori, it is impossible to guarantee that the approximation k 4 ≫ l/τe, k7[Q] holds valid at all the concentrations of quencher. In any case, the τo/τ plots can be fitted directly to the expression of λ1 (eq 3, which does not involve any approximation, according to τo/τ, λ1/λ1o, τo{(X, Y, X, Y)2, 4k3k4[Q]]1/2} X, 1/τo, k3[Q] Y, 1/τe, k4, k7[Q] We fitted the experimental data en Figures 3 and 4 using the expression above, taking k7 and τe as adjustable parameters and assuming that the values of k3 (Table 1) and k 4, k7/slope, Table 2) are known. Within experimental uncertainties the retrieved values of k7 and τo are the same as those
