6. Some promising attempts to introduce considerations of care, co-operation and trust in caring relationships have not been taken into account. Berghmans - for example, a healthcare ethicist who initiated the debate on Ulysses arrangements in The Netherlands in 1992 with his dissertation opens up space for constructing Ulysses arrangements as a form of patient "auto-paternalism". In his view, both autonomy and caring needs are relevant to this perspective.
