19. There are two main approaches to accurately calculate melting properties. The first is to perform a simulation of the solid and liquid phases in coexistence, using classical model potentials (Ref. 32) or first-principles methods (Ref. 33). The second uses the condition of equality of the Gibbs energies of the solid and the liquid (Refs. 34 and 35). As the purpose of our work is not to accurately determine the melting temperature of Al, we used a cruder method.
