    • Straightforward high-resolution TEM (HRTEM) does not reveal any twinning. Modeling of HRTEM images with varying defocus and sample thickness for the two CCTO structures show that there exist certain features which could in principle allow one to distinguish between twinned and untwinned states in the case of nanotwins.
