Levesque and Rouillard provide a review of transcription factors in the nuclear receptor family (Nur77 and retinoid X receptors) that have a role in adaptation in central nervous system dopaminergic systems. When there is a better understanding of adaptation on the cellular and molecular level, there may be an ability to facilitate neuroadaptation in patients.
