They proposed an empirical formula for the temperature dependence of the Young modulus in metal oxides: E (T) = [1-bT exp (- T0 T)] E (0), which gives a leading order of E (T) ≈ [1-b (T- T0)] E (0) at high temperature. This empirical formula has been confirmed later for other systems and other elastic constants as well, and it was also supported by a theory based on the Einstein model (Ref.).
