The complexes 2 and 4 are the first neutral three-electron σ, η2-propynyl species to be described, and therefore no reactions with electrophiles have been reported. However, it is interesting to note that protonation of both one-electron a-propynyl and one-electron a-allenyl ligands leads to the formation of cationic two-electron η2-alkyne complexes
