We were able to detect nuclear polarization in our sample by comparing the difference between neutron scattering signals after the direction of the nuclear polarization was reversed. Similarly, detection of pinned magnetic spins at the interface between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic materials was achieved by comparing the neutron reflectivities before and after reversal of a magnetic field.
