    • During the completion of the present work, the same group reported the application of this methodology, using enantiopure (S)-α-methylbenzylamine, to the determination of the enantiomeric purity of various aliphatic or alicyclic chiral diols (A.M. Kelly, Y. Perez-Fuertes, S. Arimori, S.D. Bull, T.D. James, Org. Lett. 8 (2006) 1971-1974). Importantly, in their paper the authors point out the free rotation occurring around the aryl-boron bond on the NMR time scale, indicating no possible involvement of a newly created asymmetric boron center.
