    • Smith (Ref. 32) reported that the peak intensity of phosphorescence is temperature independent at about 80–300 K under the excitation by chopped red light or Q‐switched ruby laser.

    • All trapping stages for thermal defects appeared at lower temperatures than the annealing temperatures of the individual related defects (Ref. 35). However, all radiation defects which can be annealed were annealed at lower temperatures than the exciton‐detrapping temperatures of the related defects, and then trapping stages were not observed (unpublished observations by the authors).

    • In Ref. 32, the ratios of [formula omitted] to [formula omitted] were estimated at about 15 and 1 for the traps observed in the measurements of delayed fluorescence and phosphorescence intensity. However, they were not radiation defects and the temperatures were much lower than for stage I in this experiment. Then neither of the results show any relationship.
