Assuming an optical lattice loaded with R 87 b atoms (D2 transitions with λ 780 nm: | g | 5 S1 2, F=2, mF =2, |s| 5 S1 2, F=2, mF =1, and |e| 5 P3 2, F=1, mF =1; 2 γe 3.755× 107 s-1, σ0 1.5× 10-10 cm2), the lattice filling factor ρ 1 leads to the averaged (bulk) atomic density 0 1.7× 1013 cm-3 and the corresponding resonant absorption coefficient a0 = σ0 0 2.5× 103 cm-1. The localization width δr Λ 10 40 nm yields κ1 0.9. On the other hand, δ rmin = M γe 6 nm.
