    • A general procedure. A suspension of compound 1, Oxone® and wet SiO2, 50% w/w, in CH2Cl2 (10 mL) or TBCA} was stirred at room temperature for a specific time (molar ratio of reagents and needed reactions times indicated in the Table, The progress of the reaction was monitored by TLC. After disappearance of the starting materials 1 on TLC, reaction mixture was filtered off. The residue was washed with CH2Cl2 (2 x 10 mL, Anhydrous Na 2SO4 (1 g) was added to the filtrate and filtered off after 10 min. Dichloromethane was removed and product 2 obtained. Spectral data for 2: 2a-IR (Nujul, 3080, 1575, 1472, 738 cm -1; 1H NMR (90 MHz, acetone-d6, δ (ppm, 7.4-7.2 (m, 10H, 2b-IR (KBr, 3061, 1589, 1486, 1229, 824 cm -1; 1H NMR (CDCl3, δ (ppm, 7.4 (m, 4H, 6.99 m, 4H, 2c
