    • Actually, ρppd was observed to increase with decreasing temperature in Refs. 3. However, Iye et al. (Ref. 4) found that both ρpara and ρppd show metallic behavior in some Y-Ba-Cu-O single crystals—reportedly those which showed sharper superconducting transitions. A similar finding was reported also by S. Hagen et al., at the American Physical Society Meeting, New Orleans, 1988 (unpublished).

    • Indeed, in Y-Ba-Cu-O two Cu2_ layers traverse the unit cell and one expects that a pair of 3dx2-y2 /2px (2py ) bands should be close and nearly parallel to one another throughout the Brillouin zone.
