    • In fact, from numerical simulations it has been found that the geometrically estimated range of propagation coincides with the effective nonspreading range of J0 beams of finite aperture for all values of alpha between α = 2 π / lambda (when the wave is evanescent and Zmax = 0 ) to α = 2 π / R (when the source field is essentially just a uniform disk of radius R ).
