    • We associate Δ R with the inelastic scattering of carriers near the Fermi level because we find that τn(T) scales approximately as the inverse resistivity ( ρ ) of our sample;

    • Because average heating of the illuminated volume will downshift the measured Tc relative to the unperturbed sample, power-dependent measurements are essential. Of the five data sets shown in Fig. 2, three were obtained with P0apeq 1.8 mW, one at 0.8 P0, and one at 0.5 P0. From the temperature shifts required to overlap the apparent Tc at different powers, we determine an average heating of 28, 23, and 13 K, respectively. The P0-> 0 extrapolated Tc= 116 K falls in the electrical-resistivity onset region for superconductivity. A temperature rise of Δ Tav= ( 1 - R ) P0/ Kd sqrt π apeq 15 K is expected for R = 0.1, d=30 mum, and K apeq 2 W/mK. For Δ Tav, see, Academic, New York, Chap. 3;
