Although some level of correlation undoubtedly exists, note that between 2000 and 2004, when the rate of increase in health insurance premiums experienced double-digit increases, the operating margins of top insurers increased from a range of 2 to 9 percent to a range of 9 to 13 percent (AHA, TrendWatch Chartbook 2006, supra n.1).
