    • At the beginning of this project, such trihalobridged species were unknown for cyclopentadienyl-chromium complexes. Several months after having attempted the chemistry described in this paper, Wei and Stephan reported the synthesis and X-ray crystal structure of (CsMeS)Cr(μ-Cl)3Cr, C5Me5, by removing a terminal halide from, C5Me5)CrCl(μ-Cl)]2 using AlCl3.     • Elemental analyses of the recovered solids include small amounts of thallium (0.50% for R, H, and 1.50% for R, Me, but this probably results from trace contamination of the starting dimers by TlCl. If one assumes that the thallium actually results from, C5R5)CrCl(μ-Cl) 2Tl]2-2CH2-Cl2 (R, H, Me, it would be very difficult to detect the compounds using any of the methods described in this paper. If the samples contained only, C5R5) CrCl(μ-Cl)2Tl]2-2CH2Cl2 and the starting chromium dimer, then the material recovered for R, H would contain less than 4% of the thallium complex, while R, Me would contain less than 1.5% thallium complex
    • 2 and the starting chromium dimer, then the material recovered for R = H would contain less than 4% of the thallium complex, while R = Me would contain less than 1.5% thallium complex.
