    • The spring constant of the cantilevers coated with a 50 nm Au film was calibrated by the thermal resonance method [J. L. Hutter and J. Bechhodefer: Rev. Sci. Instrum.. 64 (1993) 1868]. The range of the measured spring constant was 0.11 to 0.25 N/m. Each value was obtained as an average of more than 20 measurements for each cantilever.
