    • Freshly produced propellants stabilized with AKA-II, EC or 2-NDPA typically contain N-nitrosamines in concentrations of 0.01% to 0.1%. For propellants stabilized with DPA, the content of N-nitrosamines (mainly N-NO-DPA) lies typically between 0.1 and 0.5%. In aged propellants (in particular after artificial ageing), the N-nitrosamine content can rise up to even 1% in propellants with DPA).

    • Due to its highest efficiency and lowest toxicity, AKA-II seems to be the best of the stabilizers currently in use. Replacement of AKA-II would only make sense if a non-toxic stabilizer with equally good stabilizing properties would become available
