    • By hexagonal arrangement we do not mean a true hexagonal symmetry in a crystallographic sense. We envisage polymer chains located in a hexagonal lattice, a = 0.66 nm, with complexing ions (Ca and Na) between the chains. The chain direction, the setting angle (rotation about the chain axis), and the positions of each type of complexing ion do not follow the hexagonal symmetry.
