The excitation and emission spectra at room (∼298 K) and liquid nitrogen temperature were collected at an angle of 22.5° (front face) in a spectrofluorimeter (SPEX-Fluorolog 2) with double grating 0.22 m monochromator (SPEX 1680), and a 450 W Xenon lamp as excitation source. To eliminate the second-order diffraction of the source radiation, a cut-off filter was used in the measurements. All spectra were recorded using a detector mode correction. The luminescence decay curves of the emitting levels were measured using a phosphorimeter SPEX 1934D accessory coupled to the spectrofluorimeter. The luminescence instruments were fully controlled by a DM3000F spectroscopic computer program and the spectral intensities were automatically corrected for the photomultiplier response.
