10. Hulley SB, Cummings SR, Browner WS, et al. Designing clinical research, 2nd ed. Philadelphia: Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2001. This book is concerned with all aspects of planning a clinical epidemiologic study. The text is very much to the point, and there are summaries, appendices, and exercises at the end of each chapter. This book is especially helpful for "producers" as well as "consumers" of clinical epidemiologic research.
