9. The GP code (F. Gygi, LLNL, 2002), with a plane wave basis (35�Ry cutoff) and norm-conserving pseudopotentials, was used for all DFT calculations. The LDA was used throughout. Representative clusters were compared with gradient corrected functionals, which produced negligible changes in the structural and optical properties.
