    • Evidence that an outcrossing population is a derived lineage in a hermaphroditic fish (Rivulus marmoratus
    • Andrey Tatarenkov, currently a postdoctoral research associate in the Avise laboratory, is interested in the use of molecular markers to study population genetics, incipient speciation, and phylogenetics. Hong Gao is a Ph.D. student employing statistical modeling in population genetics. Mark Mackiewicz did his Ph.D. thesis in Avise's lab on mating systems in fishes; he is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda. D. Scott Taylor is an ecologist interested in conservation, and Bruce J. Turner studies the evolutionary biology of fishes. John C.
