    • Herbert Barry III (2006) Wealth concentration associated with frequent violent crime in diverse communities. Social Evolution and History, submitted. Some individuals and families become wealthy by owning the most valuable and extensive land, which progressively becomes even more valuable. Government revenue is obtained mainly from wages, sales, and the value of buildings. A proposed remedy for wealth concentration therefore is to shift taxes from these productive activities to the owners of land (Henry George, 1879, 2003, 2006).
