Will this, or some form of it, be the next classification system for the myeloproliferative disorders? Although it is cumbersome, the basis of this system at least incorporates our fast-changing knowledge of the molecular events underlying the chronic myeloid disorders. Many other articles in this particular journal issue also provide very worthwhile reading.
