This study prospectively evaluates the role of a number of factors including aPL as risk factors for cognitive dysfunction in patients with SLE. Persistently positive aPL were found to be associated with cognitive dysfunction in this population, and aspirin appeared to be important in preventing cognitive dysfunction, particularly in patients with hypertension and diabetes.
