In the Supporting Information of reference [16], the HOMOs and LUMOs of 16 and 17 are shown for comparison. Because these two compounds have infinite conformers that can interconvert readily due to free rotation of C-(phenyl)-C(acetylene), we used the conformer in Figure 10 as a feasible example.
