Rookmaaker captured 12 dragons in 1927, using 200 men to surround a dragon which was "... snared by means of a noose attached to a stick." One went to the Amsterdam Zoo, one to Rotterdam Zoo, one to Berlin Aquarium, two to Surabaya Zoo, and two to London Zoo. Five died before reaching their destination. The Amsterdam specimen is pictured with a rope muzzle around its head.]
