    • The Pd(CH3CO2)2 works as well as the Pd(CF3CO2)2 for imines 3a, but not in the case of bulky imines such as 3h. The hydrogenation of 3h was conducted under the following two conditions: Pd(CF3CO 2)2/(S)-SegPhos (conversion >95, 87% ee, Pd(CH3CO2)2/(S)-SegPhos (conversion 89, 85% ee, Therefore, Pd(CF3CO2)2 was employed as a metal precursor in the optimized conditions
