Harrison and Scorse's study of Indonesian factories concludes that direct US government pressure, along with anti-sweatshop campaigns, contributed to a fifty percent increase in the minimum wage, a doubling of wages for unskilled workers at targeted plants, and some closing of targeted plants which were offset by gains in employment at other plants
