Typical procedure: [Zn6O2(FDCA) 5(H2O)(DMF)]·4DMF (1, DMF solution (10mL) containing 1,1′-ferrocenedicarboxylic acid (H2FDCA, 55 mg, 0.20 mmol) and Zn(NO3)2· 6H2O (60 mg, 0.20 mmol) was diffused by triethylamine (0.2 mL) in DMF (2 mL) for 2 weeks. Zn8O4(FDCA)6(H2O) 3]· 4DMA·2H2O (2, Solution (1.8mL) of an equal amount of DMA and ethanol containing H2FDCA (18 mg, 0.07 mmol) and Zn(NO3)2·6H2O (21 mg, 0.07mmol) was heated at 83°C for 10h and then cooled to room temperature.
