    • On rapidly solidified CuCo alloys, it is generally assumed that dispersed Co in the Cu matrix does not contribute to the magnetic saturation of the material, while Co that segregates into nanoclusters gives the material a superparamagnetic behaviour. Given the saturation magnetization of bulk Co, a measurement of the saturation magnetization of the CuCo alloy gives an estimation of the fraction of Co diluted in the Cu matrix, that's usually not above 3% in as-quenched materials.
